From Reggio Calabria Airport, you take a taxi to the Reggio Calabria Harbor or you can take the Cavalieri bus to get to the Messina Harbor; from there you can take the hydrofoil, or take a Giunta bus to get to the Milazzo Harbor.
C’è infine da considerare un’ulteriore possibilità per chi si trova a Messina: raggiungere il porto di Milazzo con il pullman della ditta Giunta Bus, per trasferirsi a Salina con l’aliscafo.
From Catania Airport: Giunta bus goes to Milazzo (about 150 km) once a day from April until October. In the winter it is necessary to take SAIS bus to Messina, and Giunta bus from Messina to Milazzo. As alternative a taxi service Catania-Milazzo can be booked in advance with the company BUS-Shuttle.

If you’re driving from somewhere north in Italy, enjoy the free highway from Salerno to Villa San Giovanni, then take the ferry from Villa to Messina (about 20 minutes for 25 euro), than take the highway from Messina directed to Palermo, and take the exit “Milazzo-Isole Eolie” (about 30 minutes and a couple of euros for the highway fare).
If you want to take your car to Salina (unlike the other Aeolian Islands, Salina has no limitations), take a ferry boat from either Napoli or Milazzo.
For train lovers, our suggestion is to select “Reggio Calabria” as your destination, since the train station is close by the harbour, where you can take the hydrofoil directly to Santa Marina Salina.
